I'm an equal opportunity design lover.

I'm an equal opportunity lover when it comes to interior design. I really do love all styles. For me, the style I love in any moment is based on the home in which it will be featured. If it's a cottage off a lake, I envision farmhouse chic with coastal touches. A rowhome in Baltimore's Hampden? Bohemian would be my choice. Transitional style works well in the modern colonial and craftsman homes I see propping up everywhere for too much damn money during our home searches.

My husband and I have yet to find our home. All my close friends know it's something that bothers me daily. It's hard to pinpoint what the home we'll eventually select will look like and where it will be located. The problem with two Pisces marrying each other is that indecisiveness can stifle processes. But I digress. One thing I can envision is a space that reflects us, our history, culture and journey. I like homes that feel alive and that tell stories.

Like everyone and their mother, my phone gallery is filled with screenshots. But most of mine are of spaces that feel kin to my future home. Follow my Pinterest board My Dream Home to check out other ideas I've collected.

I pulled some of my favorite spaces from black interior designers to share with you. You'll notice that they each reflect a different style. But they all feel like me in some way. Whether it's the bespoke furniture, the dramatic lighting, the unfussy textiles, neutral color foundations that allow for quick changes to color stories, or unexpected touch of whimsy. Those are the design elements I want to wake up and come home to every day.

Which rooms that I shared speak to you? What types of images take up the most memory on your phone?

I love how the table lamp mimics the shape of the bird pictured above the mantel. The neutral foundation makes all the black and brown elements pop. Simple, understated, drama. Imagined Bmore Space: Sitting Room in Roland Park. Real Space: Designed by Michel Boyd.

The cobalt blue is a shocker, but the dark brown walls and placement of black and white art really makes it special. I’m not normally a lover of spaces with all gold hardware, but for me it makes the brown in this space feel more feminine. Imagined Space: She-room in Georgetown. Real Space: Designed by Forbes and Masters.

The wall color and art make this space unique. I love her choice to envelope the entire room in the same moody, but relaxing color. All I want to do is pour a drink, take a seat at the table, and talk about something that makes me feel real black and smart. Imagined Space: My husband’s future man cave lol.
